According to this study three 45-minute sessions a week of cycling or walking/jogging at moderate to high intensity for four months was "just as effective at treating depression as was Zoloft or even a combination of exercise and Zoloft." snacks*: 1. Apples - Mr. Kirchhoff states that one apple can be sliced into eighths, which are 2 bites each. 16 bites for 100 calories. 2. Beef Jerky - Not on my personal list of foods to snack on, but few calories and lots of protein according to Mr. Kirchhoff. 3. Salsa and Vegetables - Instead of crackers and chips. That's a hard recommendation to swallow, but Mr. Kirchhoff suggests mixing up the vegetables to include, in addition to carrots and celery, mushrooms, broccoli, cauliflower, sweet peppers and 4. Fat-free Greek yogurt - Plenty of protein, not too many calories. 5. 94% fat-free microwave popcorn - Needless to say. 6. Grapes - A friend of Mr. Kirchhoff calls grapes "nature's candy".
