Gladiator Army sends its congratulations to the Johns Creek High School Boys Basketball Team for beating West Forsyth to qualify for the schools first spot in the state tournament! Tonight they will play in the 3rd place game against rival Chattahoochee! Please come out to support them. Any students who make the trip to West Forsyth to watch can keep their ticket stubs and turn them in to Mr. Smith to be reimbursed! It was a hot weekend on the ice rink for the Gladiators! On February 7, the Johns Creek ice hockey team beat rivals Mill Creek 3-1. All season long Mill Creek had been a tough competitor. But on Friday night Jake Footer and Cameron Menna each found the net with a score and Dylan Ferguson kept it going with an assist. On February 9, the team took on Columbus and kept the winning streak going with a huge 7-4 victory. Garett Schwartz had another big night for the team with a whopping two goals and four assists. Dylan Ferguson was a force to be reckoned with as he added 3 goals to the score board and a hat trick to his credit. Josh Kalter was no stranger to the net and added another goal for the team. Jake Patneau and Cameron Menna each had an assist. Come cheer on your Gladiators as they play Game 1 of the playoffs on Friday night, February 28! Congratulations to the boys JV soccer team for starting their season with a dominating two to nothing victory over Lambert last night. Both goals were scored by Esteban Munoz but it was a complete team performance that led to the victory. Giving Back will be having a meeting this Wednesday. Please be sure to attend and discuss any volunteer ideas. Jewish student union will meet this Wednesday morning at 7:30am in the BVP room 171. We will celebrating Purim by making hamentashin, a type of cookie traditionally eaten on Purim. And as always, Starbucks and Krispy Kreme will be served. See you there! The Korean Club will meet on WEDNESDAY February 19 at 8 am in Room 245 to elect Leaders There will be a French Club meeting after school today in room 327. We will be eating crêpes and organizing the flower deliveries. There will be a Drama Club meeting this Thursday, Feb 20th at 3:30 in the Drama Room #284. At this week's meeting, we will discuss how you can become a member of the Thespian Society. Swimmers & Divers: The Swim/Dive Banquet is tonight at the Country Club of the South. The Doors open at 6:30, and Dinner will be served at 7:00 pm. Please remember to bring your CLEAN Parkas and Warm ups to the banquet to receive your deposit check back. Come support the boys varsity soccer team tonight as they host North Gwinnett at 8:00. The boys team dominated 5th ranked Brookwood on Saturday night, and were unfortunate to not come out with the victory. We want a large crowd tonight in the Colosseum! Attention all Seniors: Graduation fees are due by March 1st. This fee covers cap, gown, diploma cover and other costs associated with graduation. Students can pay the $70 fee with cash or check at school. Forms are available from Coach Matthieson in the front office. A Balfour rep will be visiting our school during lunch on February 12th in the cafeteria to collect fees and answer questions. Graduation fees may also be paid through the Balfour website, however, there is a $4.95 processing fee for paying online. After the March 1st deadline, fees will be increased by $10 each month. Go to the Johns Creek H.S. website and complete the application and turn in to Mrs. Edwards by March 17 at 9:00 a.m.
